Private International Law and International Civil Procedure

This textbook presents the fundamental principles of private international law and international civil procedure, including the concept and sources of private international law, the nature and application of conflict-of-law rules, the implementation of private international law norms, subjects, property rights, foreign economic contracts, international transportation, international payment and credit relations, non-contractual obligations, intellectual property, and inheritance relations in private international law. It also covers international family law, international labor law, international commercial arbitration, and issues of international civil procedure.

The textbook is based on current legislation, including Section 7 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Section 4 of the Civil Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Section 7 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Marriage (Matrimony) and Family, as well as relevant international treaties.

It is intended for students, master’s degree candidates, lecturers, and researchers specializing in private international law, as well as for practitioners involved in international economic relations.
